Travelling to London: a great experience

Last year, I made my wish come true. I visited London for the first time ever and I really enjoyed that journey. When I was on the plane I felt so excited that I couldn't think of anything but what I would visit in London, what I would see, the places where I'd go to, etc. I couldn't wait to land and start such a fantastic adventure!

When I was in the hotel, I left my luggage in the room and I started visiting places in the heart of London. As I am a sixties lover and I love everything about the 60's such as fashion and music, I had to visit the most iconic places from the swinging sixties so I went to Carnaby Street and visited some record and clothing shops such as "The Face", "Pretty Green", and "The Modfather". I met really nice people from London and other British cities who were in the shops talking about 60's music and stuff, and nowadays we are friends.

Also, I visited more places such as Hyde Park, the London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Bridge, Thames river, Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus, and Green Park. I simply fell in love with the city.

I saw a friend of mine at Hyde Park who I met in person there for the first time - we were virtual friends on Facebook - and we did some catch-up. We were so glad about seeing each other, we took lots of pictures and later we went to a pub where we saw a band performing live.

Next day, my friend and I went to a psychedelic music party and I met a lot of people there, although I already knew some of them thanks to social networks such as Instagram and Facebook. We danced all night long to the best groovy tunes we had ever heard.

Nowadays, I can say that journey was really amazing because I visited my favourite city, I enjoyed the scene that I like and also, I met such wonderful people who I spoke to in English so I could practise a lot. I can't wait to visit London again!

Rosa's Autobiography

Hello world! My name is Rosa, I’m 21 and I’m currently studying at University of Valencia to become a Primary teacher. I live in a Valencian town which is the closest one to the city. In the following lines I am going to tell you why I love English so much and my decision to become a teacher. I hope you are ready to travel with me through this linguistic journey. Let’s go!

Since I was little I have had a passion for learning in general, but I think above all, there are two top passions called languages and music. I remember when my mother used to tell me how much I moved even before I was born and how she felt that. When I was three, she used to tell me a lot of stories and I enjoyed listening to them. I had my first contact with English language at the age of six, and suddenly I fell in love with it. English language has meant a lot to me because it is like a kind of connection that increases your motivation and your passion for learning. When I was a child, I enjoyed spending my free time doing a lot of activities, and one of my favourites was singing songs in English.
I have had several experiences related to both languages and music which I adored, and I think these experiences have helped me to be the person who I am now. Due to music and languages I’ve travelled around the UK and I must admit that being in contact with other cultures enriches you a lot as a learner and as a human being. I have met a lot of people from different countries; we have shared laughs, music, food, and friendship.
What I would like to do in the future when I teach my students is to share with them all my experiences and knowledge related to languages and music and help them develop their joy for discovery and their appetite for learning.
